Silva texts star to join him at Chelsea as Board offer unit £8.5M-a-year Chelsea contract

Thiago Silva texts Kimpembe

Thiago Silva is said to have been texting Presnel Kimpembe in an attempt to persuade him to join Chelsea.

Kimpembe, a French international, is one of a handful of big-name centre-backs connected with the Blues, as Thomas Tuchel attempts to address the defensive concerns he’ll have next season.

Following the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, reinforcements in that position are expected — and according to France Football journalist Olivier Bossard, Silva has been in communication with an old Paris Saint-Germain teammate.

Kimpembe, 26, is a senior defender who wants to join Thomas Tuchel’s project at Stamford Bridge and establish a formidable alliance with the Premier League giants that will help the team challenge for the crown.

However, despite all of Silva’s efforts, Kimpembe is quite content at PSG and has no desire to leave. As a result, Tuchel will find it difficult to get him to Stamford Bridge this summer window.

Reports in Italy claim Chelsea have launched a bid for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and have even offered him a big contract

It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel may lose a slew of defenders at the end of the season due to a number of stars’ contracts expiring, necessitating the signing of a few more players.

And Koulibaly is a name familiar to many Chelsea fans, since the club has been linked with a bid for the heavyweight for several seasons and is still interested in completing a deal.

Now The Blues have made measures to try to persuade the dynamo that a move to Stamford Bridge is the next stage in his career, according to daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Chelsea has reportedly offered the 30-year-old personal terms of £8.5 million per year, which equates to well over £160,000 a week.

Napoli, on the other hand, is said to be wanting £34 million for their star centre-back. With only a year left on Koulibaly’s current deal, Chelsea is aware that the Serie A club may be forced to sell him this summer.

Barcelona is also reportedly interested in signing the Senegalese international.
