‘Sorry, but it’s finally over’ – Fabrizio confirms another Chelsea star departure after latest transfer decision
Over the past 24 hours, reports have been claiming that Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger will leave the club to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
However, The club is yet to have new owners and currently can’t negotiate a deal with Rudiger, following the sanctions placed on the club.
Real Madrid and other top clubs have been eyeing up Rudiger for a free transfer, as he’d be a free agent at the end of the season.
Chelsea were reluctant to meet Rudiger’s demands before the sanctions, and now, Real Madrid have given the 29-year-old what he wants, and according to reports, Rudiger is set to take the offer.
A Reputable reporter Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the German international will leave for free at the end of the season.
“Antonio Rüdiger will leave Chelsea on a free transfer as he can’t wait more than 2 months for new owners. No bid on the table,” Romano tweeted.
“He’s always been respectful – but it’s time for a new challenge. It’s over.
“Real Madrid are close to find an agreement to sign Rüdiger.”
