Sorry Lukaku as Tuchel wants 35-goals in 34 games striker – reporter reveals
Thomas Tuchel is desperately looking for that elite striker that can help Chelsea to compete in the league ahead of next season. However, we believed Romelu Lukaku will be that elite striker for Chelsea but seems no.
Meanwhile, the Blues boss Thomas Tuchel may be looking to cut ties with Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Having signed the Belgian for a club record £97.5million fee, Lukaku never reached his best heights for Chelsea over the course of the season.
Reports have it that Chelsea are open to selling Lukaku back to Inter Milan this summer.
Chelsea are among the clubs to have been linked with veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has confirmed that he’d be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season, and many of Europe’s biggest sides are scrambling for his signature.
Daily Star journalist Paul Brown has even claimed Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel preferred Lewandowski to Lukaku as at last summer.
Lewandowski has proven to be one of the best strikers in the world over the past decade, and his tally of 344 goals in his eight seasons for Bayern Munich is unimaginable. Man also scored 35 goals in 34games this season in their league.
Paul Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m pretty sure that Tuchel wanted Lewandowski more than he ever wanted Lukaku when Lukaku signed, so he’s clearly a player they would be hugely interested in.
“But like Raphinha, he has already made his mind up to go somewhere else, so it might be too late to get in on that market now.”
