Strongest Chelsea lineup Lampard could use against Southampton today
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be pleased that the bulk of his squad is now available, after a season that started with injuries, with the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Ben Chilwell all having one form of injury or the other.
With Pulisic fit to start and Ziyech fit to come on from the bench, see the Chelsea team Lampard could choose to face Southampton today.
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga should come in for the injured Mendy.
Defenders: A back four of Reece James, Fikayo Tomori, Kurt Zouma and Ben Chilwell will do a good job.
Reece James has had a good start to the season and also impressed in his Three Lions debut during the international break. Kurt Zouma has shown that he is currently the most consistent centre back at the club, and Fikayo Tomori can come in for Thiago Silva who will be rested for this game.
Midfield: Jorginho, Kovacic and Kai Havertz.
With Kante returning from injury, Lampard may have to opt for a double pivot of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic. Kai Havertz will play as the team’s playmaker.
Attack: A trio of Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Hudson-Odoi/Mason Mount will do a great job.
Hudson-Odoi or Mount could start on one flank, while Werner should return to his central role. Hakim Ziyech would be a nice addition in the second half.
