According to the Manchester Evening News, Chelsea are “prepared” to offer Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson £170,000 a week if he chooses to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Sources have told the local newspaper that Blues boss Frank Lampard has tasked his club’s board to enquire about the 23-year-old and see if the player would be interested in moving to Stamford Bridge.
It is thought that Henderson is very keen on becoming United’s number one but he isn’t interested in competing with David De Gea to be the club’s first choice.
The former England Under 21 international is, therefore, prepared to move away from the Red Devils on a permanent basis if he isn’t given guarantees about first-team football.
Chelsea do appear to have a chance of signing Henderson but the big question will be whether United will do business with one of their main rivals if the goalkeeper asks to leave this summer.
