Mario Pasalic is one Chelsea player who never got his chance at the Bridge for one reason or another. The Croatian international joined Chelsea in 2014, but is yet to make a single appearance for the club.
Since joining Chelsea, Pasalic has had loan spells with Elche, Monaco, AC Milan, Spartak Moscow and now Atalanta.
Pasalic has blossomed in his last three loan deals, but his most notable has been his two-year loan spell with Atalanta. His versatility has been one of the main highlights of his game, operating as a number eight, as well as a more attacking Number 10.
The 25-year-old has been praised for his engine room displays, most notably by club captain Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gómez.
He says: “There are people like Remo Freuler, Marten de Roon and Mario Pašalić who have three lungs and run three times as much as us attackers to support us.”
Pasalic has even gotten into the star studded Croatian national team to show how far he has progressed. However, Chelsea are set to lose him for as low as €15 million to Atalanta, and reports claim that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Serie A side Atalanta for his transfer.
