‘That position will make them score more goals: Tuchel reveals new position for Lukaku and Werner
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has joked he may try playing forwards Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku at wing back when they return from injury.
Chelsea right wing-back Reece James scored two cracking goals as the Blues beat Newcastle United 3-0 on Saturday.
Tuchel joked post-game: “Maybe we need to try them [Lukaku and Werner] as wing-backs.
“It’s a complex game and I think that Reecey [James] cannot score if Callum [Hudson-Odoi] does not do the dribbling, and maybe Callum cannot do the dribbling if Chilly [Chilwell] is not opening the space.
“I think we were dangerous on the first post with Kai [Havertz] in the middle of the goal with Ross [Barkley] and even on the second post with Ruben [Loftus-Cheek].”
