“That was the reason his contract was cancelled” – Pundit finally reveals why former Chelsea player Mikel Obi gets sacked in Kuwait
As we all know, former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi did well during his time with Championship side Stoke City last season.
However, Mikel was one of Stoke’s top performers and was urged to sign with the Potters for this season after a short-term deal last campaign.
Surprisingly, Mikel made the move to Kuwait side, Kuwait SC before the start of the 2021-22 campaign as he was offered way more money.
Mikel’s spell in Kuwait has come to an end after Kuwait SC announced that they have terminated the contract of the former Chelsea midfielder.
Although, they did not give any reasons for this decision, a journalist has revealed that Mikel was sacked for not being fit and competitive.
The journalist told totorinews: “Mikel’s performance was not good and he could not run, was not mobile and was playing like a tourist, that was the reason his contract was cancelled,”
“His physical condition was very bad. He was walking on the pitch, instead of running like his other teammates, too bad.
“The club discovered later that he lacked strong physical condition for a professional footballer.”
