The Blues could secure one of the transfers of the summer if the rumours are to be believed.
Chelsea are in the market for a new striker this summer, and have been linked to plenty in the past, with the likes of Timo Werner, Moussa Dembele, Edinson Cavani and Dries Mertnes all previously linked. Some of those players remain targets, but there is another name who has popped up in recent days – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But if Chelsea do snare him this summer, which shirt number could he wear?
No. 10: This number could be hot property once again this summer if Willian does leave the club when his contract runs out. Aubameyang may want it, as a key forward’s number, but Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic could all lay claim to taking it, as would Philippe Coutinho if he signed.
No. 11: Another number which might be free is Pedro’s number 11, with the Spaniard another set to leave when his contract expires. However, once again it’s a number which would be hot property for the Blues players.
No. 14: The one that Aubameyang is likely to choose if he arrives at Chelsea, having worn it at Arsenal. The number has been Tiemoue Bakayoko’s since joining the club, however with a couple of loan spells away it should be free. The midfielder is unlikely to be part of Lampard’s plans, so Aubameyang could take the shirt without too much fuss.
No. 16: Kenedy is another player whose future will likely be away from Chelsea, having been on loan this season with Getafe. If Aubameyang does want to move to Chelsea, this is another number he could don.
