“Those two are more important than individual players at Chelsea” – Owen Hargreaves reveals the two Chelsea players Tuchel can’t replace
According to Hargreaves, Tuchel can replace any player in his Chelsea team and still get a good performance from the player.
However, the former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has claimed Thomas Tuchel has only two irreplaceable players in his Chelsea squad.
Hargreaves believes Edouard Mendy and Antonio Rudiger are the two irreplaceable players in Tuchel’s Chelsea team.
“The manager and his philosophy are more important than individual players [at Chelsea] and that’s basically been proven,” he told PL Productions’ The Weekend Preview (via Optus Sport). “It doesn’t matter who’s going to pop in. He said.
“Mendy obviously always plays, and I think Rudiger pretty much always plays, but there are so many guys who can dip in and out.
“They’ve done it without [Christian] Pulisic, [Romelu] Lukaku, and Mason Mount, while [Hakim] Ziyech has barely played.
“Anytime he [Tuchel] slots anybody in, they’ll perform — that’s a sign of a really great coach.”
