“Those two are useless to this Chelsea team at the moment”- Cesc Fabregas suggests Chelsea should drop both £50m player and 25-year-old teammate after Wolves shock defeat

Chelsea’s week ended in the worse possible way today with a defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After the midweek loss away at Liverpool, the Blues followed that up by losing 4-2 against Wolves on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

As a result, they’ve dropped to 11th in the Premier League table and the season is in danger of falling apart.

Cesc Fabregas did pick out Chelsea defenders Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi for criticism after the crushing loss versus Wolves this weekend.

Speaking after Chelsea’s loss against Wolves, Fabregas suggested that Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino may need to make changes to his line-up.

Chilwell, 27, should be under the spotlight according to him. We do agree that the £50m left-back (Sky Sports) has looked well off the pace since returning from injury last month.

25-year-old centre-back Disasi has been name dropped as a player that needs to be looked at.

Cesc Fabregas told NBC Sports: “The patient Pochettino might have to change. He might have to start to get a bit ruthless and start making some big decisions about some of these players. I’m not just talking about the young players, people like Chilwell and Disasi are nowhere near the level they should be at.”

Question marks against Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi

In fairness, we put Chilwell and Disasi into the same category as most of the Chelsea squad right now. That is the section of players underperforming right now, with Cole Palmer perhaps the only exception.

Chilwell remains the only fit and natural left-back while Marc Cucurella is out injured, so perhaps he’ll have to try fight and play himself back into form.

Disasi’s looked good in patches during his debut season in English football, but there’s definitely still a frailty to his defending.

TEAMtalk has claimed on Sunday that Chelsea’s owners are now considering sacking Pochettino as the manager. Will the players get the chance to bounce back under a new boss?
