“I enjoy his play” “Really more to come from him” – Azpilicueta tells Chelsea fans to give 22-year-old Chelsea man more time after what he did against Wolves

Chelsea legend Cesar Azpilicueta was really impressed with one bit of play from Chelsea in the first half of their game against Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday.

Chelsea took the lead in the 19th minute after Cole Palmer was picked out in the box by Moises Caicedo before putting the ball away.

And Jason Cundy, who was commentating on the game was quick to highlight Caicedo’s pass.

It was the midfielder’s first assist in the Premier League this season, while the goal was Palmer’s 10th.

Azpilicueta enjoyed Moises Caicedo’s assist in Wolves game.

He liked Caicedo’s pass and does not think Chelsea supporters have seen enough of his creativity since his move from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer.

On the 22-year-old, the former Chelsea player said: “What a brilliant goal and it all starts with the ball into Conor [Gallagher], who plays a lovely little pass into Caicedo.

“We’ve not seen this enough. Caicedo, we saw him do lots of this at Brighton. It’s a ball from Enzo [Fernandez] into Conor, plays a little ball back into his path, and it’s the run from Palmer which encourages the pass from Caicedo.”

Again, that was the first goal Caicedo set up for Chelsea in the Premier League, while he has been criticised alongside Fernandez for his overall performances this term.

In general, the Ecuadorian is not having his best season. However, he did cost the club a lot of money and is still quite young at 22.

Caicedo probably just needs more time to adapt and learn how to cope with the pressure that has come with his price tag.

Next up for the Ecuador international and Chelsea is a FA Cup fourth round replay against Aston Villa at Villa Park. The two Premier League clubs played out a 0-0 draw when they first met.
