“Three points become six” – Jamie Carragher reveals why it’s all over for Chelsea

The Blues had started the season in fine form and had held on to the top spot for nine weeks but a recent dip in form over the past few weeks have seen Chelsea lose some steam. Worse still, Thomas Tuchel’s side has now been hit by Covid and multiple injury cases which has further worsened Chelsea’s form.

Although it’s just midway through the season, but Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has already ruled Chelsea out of the title race this season.

Chelsea are already six points behind Manchester City, and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has ruled Chelsea out of the race and also warned Liverpool not to get far too behind or else City will run home with the trophy yet again.

Carragher told Sky Sports: “Most people think they [Man City] have the edge over Liverpool and Chelsea. It’s difficult to be too critical of Liverpool’s [2-2] draw against Tottenham, it’s not an easy game and they’ve got Covid-19, they played Thursday night.”

“But what Liverpool can’t afford to do is what’s happened to Chelsea, where three points become six. I think that’s very very difficult for Chelsea to get that back.

“Liverpool at the moment, it’s one game but they can’t allow that gap to five, six, seven points otherwise we’ll be fearing that the title will be going back to Manchester again.”
