Todd Boehly makes fresh Chelsea January transfer decision after spending £250m
Chelsea spent almost £250 million in the just completed summer transfer window, but there are already reports that they plan to spend significantly more when the winter transfer window opens in January.
When the new owners took over, they made a great impression by spending money in a few new players who joined the team right away. However, plans for January have already been made, and significant spending will resume.
That is according to The Times, who claim that Chelsea’s new ownership are understood to be unhappy about performances and structure of the squad and intend to invest aggressively again in the January window.
Of course, Graham Potter has come in as the new manager now and might have his own wish-list of players that he would like to see come in. But after backing Thomas Tuchel so heavily in the summer and then sacking him, you have to wonder about doing the same thing again.
