Todd Boehly makes huge transfer decision after N’Golo Kante rejects new Chelsea contract

According to The Athletic, Chelsea have verbally offered to renew his deal for two years in August. It is believed that the option of another 12 months was also included in the proposal. But the frenchman turns it down as report claims he wants a 3year deal from the Blues

However, Kante’s current deal will expire next year. It means he will be able to join another club on a free transfer ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Now, According to Fabrizio Romano speaking on a podcast today, Chelsea’s talks with N’Golo Kante have gone “very quiet”.

The France midfielder’s contract runs out a the end of this season, and as it stands he will leave on a free contract it seems.

He’s still a vital player for Chelsea, but his injuries have got worse and worse over the years, and he’s already been out for a month this season, which is barely two months old.

In a way, it might be better to take a clean break and let him go, even if that does make us worse in the short term. Seeing him drop out of the side mid-season has ruined a few campaigns for us now.

There’s still plenty of time left for a deal to be sorted however, and if Todd Boehly wants to secure him, we’re pretty sure he will be able to make him an offer he can’t refuse.

Todd Boehly will only offer Kante a 2 year deal according to reports.
