‘Top class player, What a boy’ – Graeme Souness hails Chelsea player after 3-0 win over Leeds
Graeme Souness, a former Liverpool player, has named Mason Mount as Chelsea’s best player for their Premier League match against Leeds United on Wednesday.
Mount, Christian Pulisic, and Romelu Lukaku scored for Chelsea against relegation-threatened Leeds United at Elland Road on Wednesday.
Mount scored the first goal and assisted on the second, securing a Champions League spot for the Blues next season.
Sky Sports pundit Souness said of Mount after Chelsea’s comfortable victory: “What a boy this is. I think he’s top-class.”
“I remember Chelsea fans doubting him a couple of years ago, there’s nothing to doubt about him. He’s energetic, he’s a workaholic, he’s got great skill, an eye for a pass.
“He’s just a top player at such a young age. Mason Mount and Reece James, two young lads, were the two best players on the pitch tonight.”
Up next for Thomas Tuchel’s Blues is their FA Cup final tie with Liverpool at the Wembley stadium on Saturday.
Chelsea will be hoping to claim their first trophy of the season, while the Reds will be looking to win a second after winning the Carabao Cup.
