As the transfer window draws to a close for the summer, Chelsea have one more trick up their sleeves.
After confirming the signing of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from Rennes yesterday, Frank Lampard is ‘now’ going to make a push to sign Declan Rice from West Ham, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
He was talking on the London Is Blue Podcast this week and admitted that now the Mendy deal is complete, Chelsea will make an offer to sign Rice.
Rice could be a difficult target to get for Chelsea, but that won’t stop them making a last ditch effort to sign him.
Kai Havertz was a drawn out saga, so with only just over a week remaining in the window, The Blues will have to work much faster on a deal to sign Rice.
The England international would probably have to ask his club for the move if it is to happen during this window.
