Tuchel among top favourites to be appointed as Italian giants manager
According to reports in the Italian media, Ex-Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is one of the leading candidates to replace Max Allegri if Juventus decide to sack the 55-year-old.
A large swathe of supporters are calling for Allegri to leave after a very poor start to the season, which has seen Juve lose their first two Champions League group games, as well as falling to eighth in the Serie A table after yesterday’s defeat to Monza.
Finances could, though, play a role in when (or if) the axe falls on Allegri. It would cost a substantial amount in compensation to part ways with the Italian and his staff, while Tuchel would not come cheap either.
The German is believed to be keen on getting back into management straight away following his departure from Stamford Bridge earlier this month, and he does have a history of taking over teams midseason and making an immediate impact.
It is believed the enforced break for the World Cup in November may be the time that Juventus will look to make changes if results haven’t improved by then.
