Tuchel announce new Chelsea midfield boss after beating Man city
There have been calls for Thomas Tuchel to give an opportunity to youngster Billy Gilmour since his appointment as Chelsea boss, but the German didn’t seem to trust the 19-year-old.
Gilmour got a rare Premier League start in the 2-0 win over Fulham, but the young midfielder looked very rusty in that game.
With Tuchel keen on resting his midfielders against Manchester City, Gilmour was given a start in midfield against the Citizens, and he owned the middle of the park. Gilmour never looked out of place against a star studded Manchester City side as he bossed the midfield.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel knew that Gilmour had a great game, and showed it in the way he hugged him at the end of the match.
Check out Gilmour’s numbers against Manchester City
73 touches
Completed 66/71 passes
90.6% pass accuracy in opposition half
2 chances created
Indeed, the young midfielder has shown Thomas Tuchel that he can as well be trusted for the big occasion.
