Tuchel drops bombshell and admits ‘he expects’ headline-taking striker to be Chelsea player this summer
Even though sources say that Armando Broja is in contact with West Ham, Thomas Tuchel does not anticipate the Chelsea forward leaving the team this summer.
For the past few months, Broja has frequently been mentioned in connection with transfers since there is a lot of conjecture about whether or not he will leave the team.
The sources have stated on multiple occasions that West Ham and Chelsea have been in negotiations over a potential transfer for the brilliant striker, but no deal is close.
However, with Romelu Lukaku sent back to Inter on loan, a potential spot for Broja has opened up at the front of the Blues’ attack, and Tuchel now has fewer alternatives for an outright striker than before.
It’s possible that he will stay with the team given that they are no closer to signing a new forward than they were at the start of the transfer window now that Tuchel has said he doesn’t see Broja leaving.
“I don’t expect Armando to leave,” Tuchel told his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s game.
“We are aware of offers and interest. We will take this decision together with the owner and the player.
“When he was here I was aware that he was trying to impress and become a Chelsea player as soon as possible.”
