Tuchel finally makes honest admission on Dembele’s possible move to Chelsea
As we all know The Blues were linked with a late January transfer window move for Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele.
However, Chelsea boss Tuchel had worked with the Frenchman from his time at Borussia Dortmund, and rumours had it that the Chelsea boss was in contact with the 24-year-old over a January move to Chelsea.
Speaking ahead of the weekend clash with Plymouth, Tuchel admitted that he didn’t make any contact with his former player over a move to Chelsea.
“I did not have contact with Ousmane to answer your question very directly. There was no contact in winter. There was no contact between us.” Tuchel said.
Tuchel also admitted that he’s satisfied with the quality of his squad despite the lack of addition.
He went on: “I’m very satisfied because it was a calm window and to be calm is always the best thing.
“We were open for things but I did not have any contact with Ousmane. There was nothing between us but there is no frustration.
“I know what kind of quality we would need to add to a strong group. We trust in the group we have and it’s my job to find solutions when we have injuries.”
