Tuchel finally reveals the kind of player he is looking forward ahead of next season
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel during the pre-season said he is looking to having a specific attribute from the players that he intends to add to his squad for the upcoming season.
The Blues team are yet to welcome a number of key players as they are still on holiday following their involvement at the Euro, and in Thiago Silva’s case, the Copa America.
Thomas Tuchel has still been quite busy in the summer transfer window and he is expected to add more as efforts to add Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund is still on going.
However, several returning loanees and academy players have also joined in with the training camp but some of them will return on loan.
“Of course. Life is full of possibilities,” Tuchel told Chelsea TV.
“For these guys, this is the possibility, clearly.
“I cannot promise, I cannot tell anybody after one week, ‘You’ll be a big part [of the plans] next season.’
“No, but what I really love about these guys is that they’re so positive about it.
“Let’s see. Of course, we look very, very carefully, but nobody can predict the future.”
Obviously, their positions and technical abilities matter a lot. But above all, Tuchel said that he is looking for players with the right mentality.
“We always look for attitude, honestly,” the manager emphasised.
“What else is there? I mean they’re full of talent, all of them, [so] we look for attitude.
“If we hire, we want to hire for attitude.”
Meanwhile, the West London outfit are believed to still be in the market for more additions and their key target, Erling Haaland is keen to remain with the Bundesliga outfit.
The Blues have been told that they can sign other players who are not as expensive as the Borussia Dortmund player and that is yet to happen.
