Tuchel has questioned Chelsea board over latest club decision
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has showed character since taking over from Frank Lampard, and his success within a short time has been very well deserved.
It’s every manager’s dream to manage a top club, and Thomas Tuchel showed some level of dignity when he was considered to replace Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.
Lampard was loved by the Blues faithful, and was backed by the fans despite a run of poor results, and Tuchel has revealed how he questioned the Chelsea board when they opted to make him the new manager.
“I said to the board are you sure you want to do this? Because they will not like you and maybe he deserves more time,” Tuchel told Sky Sports.
“When I think of Chelsea I think of Frank Lampard, John Terry, Petr Cech , Didier Drogba. He embodies everything Chelsea is, hard work, aggressive player a big leader but a normal guy. A true, true legend.
“But I understood the choice was already made, so I had to take it or leave it.”
Hopefully, Tuchel can serve as a long term manager at Chelsea, which will be a first in Roman Abramovich’s reign, as no manager has lasted up to four years under the Russian billionaire.
