Tuchel tells Boehly to bring Bundesliga star to Chelsea – German ‘in love with the player’
According to reports, Chelsea is interested in signing Josko Gvardiol this summer, and coach Thomas Tuchel is head over heels for the player.
Given that Chelsea has been seeking to bolster its defense this summer in order to complement Kalidou Koulibaly, Over the previous few weeks, Chelsea has been linked to a large number of players.
Gvardiol is reportedly the player Chelsea want most, but reports indicate the Blues would need a “miracle” to secure the 20-year-old Croatian international because of his contract, which runs through 2026.
However – according to Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano – Tuchel is in love with the player and is very keen for Ted Boehly to make a move and bring him to Stamford Bridge
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said: ‘Gvardiol is one of the top names on [Chelsea’s] list – Thomas Tuchel is in love with this player.’
‘Let me say that he’s option number one in the list, but as of today, the situation on Leipzig’s side is still the same – they have no intention at all to sell Gvardiol this summer.
‘So, it is going to be more than complicated. For Fofana, it’s difficult, but you can negotiate. For Gvardiol, it’s not even the case.
‘He’s considered untouchable by Leipzig, so Chelsea would need a miracle to sign Gvardiol.’
Quizzed on if German side RB Leipzig would be interested in a swap deal for Gvardiol involving Chelsea’s Timo Werner, Romano added: ‘At the moment, it’s more than difficult because Leipzig don’t want to sell the player.
‘But Chelsea tried, and let’s see if something can happen.’
