Tuchel wants these two Inter Milan and Juventus defenders for next season
Chelsea are in desperate need of strengthening their defensive line next summer.
Therefore, Thomas Tuchel has his eyes on some potential centre-backs for next season.
However, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Cesar Azpilicueta are all set to leave Chelsea this summer. All their contracts are set to expire at the end of this season.
Moreover, Marcos Alonso is also projected to leave Stamford Bridge along with that batch.
Tuchel’s number one priority would be defence this summer at the summer transfer window. However, Chelsea first have to wait for the government to lift the sanctions placed on the club.
Also, the takeover by Todd Boehly’s consortium from Roman Abramovich has not yet been completed. Therefore Chelsea have to wait till then.
Chelsea have their eyes on Inter Milan defender Milian Skriniar. However, the club’s main target is said to be Sevilla’s Joules Kounde.
Still, Skriniar has been on the Chelsea radar for some time now and Chelsea would surely bid for the Slovakian.
Italian news outlet Gazzetta reports, that Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have all shown their interest in Skriniar.
However, Inter is hopeful of keeping the player by offering a new deal at the table. The 27-year-old has his contract expiring at the end of the next season.
Chelsea’s another target seems to be Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt. The Italian giants already have a deal lined for the Dutch and it remains to be seen whether he would accept that deal.
The 22-year-old has long been linked to the Premier League. De Ligt was reported to be coming to the Premier League in 2019 before he was acquired by Juventus for a whopping £63million.
However, this time De Ligt is said to be the prime target of Chelsea.
