Two Chelsea deals set to be hijack as Barcelona president reveals why Barca are better than Chelsea
Jules Kounde of Sevilla and Raphinha of Leeds United have both been linked to Chelsea.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea would really close any of those transactions this summer.
Raphinha appears to be more interested in moving to Barcelona, and rumors suggest that Jules Kounde is also a target for Barcelona.
Some of the remarks made by Barcelona president Joan Laporta concerning some of Chelsea’s targets have been made public by reporter Fabrizio Romano.
Despite the club’s financial position, Laporta is sure that some of the club’s targets would be signed by Barca.
Barcelona has an advantage over Chelsea, in Laporta’s opinion, because players prefer to play there.
Barça president Laporta said: “Koundé? Go see Mateu Alemany. When we activate the lever, we will work at a top level.” #FCB
“Koulibaly? I don’t talk about other players. Our advantage is that many players want to come here”, he added.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta said on Raphinha: “Raphinha wants to come at Barça. We have communication and have spoken with Leeds.
“What’s there is that there are other clubs that want Raphinha and are making their proposals.”
Joan Laporta’s arrogance is coming after Thursday’s injection of €200 million into the club’s coffers as a result of the sale of TV rights.
Barcelona now have a few funds to spend around, after ‘selling a part of their future’.
