“Unbelievable prediction”- Super Computer rates Chelsea’s chances of winning the Champions League

Chelsea have qualified for the Champions League knockout stage, and the Blues did it in style by topping Group E, and went unbeaten in the group.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will be hoping for an easy draw, having met Bayern Munich in last season’s round of 16 encounter.

Chelsea last won the competition in 2012, as Roberto Di Matteo led an unlikely Chelsea side against all odds to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history. Frank Lampard was part of the squad and captained the team in the final in the absence of John Terry.

Can Chelsea win the Champions League this season?

Super Computer guru FiveThirtyEight have rated Chelsea as the third likeliest Premier League side to win the Champions League, behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Super Computer has given Chelsea a 6% chance to win the 2020/21 Champions League, ranking the Blues as the sixth most possible winner at the end of the season.

Interestingly, Man City are considered the main frontrunners for the trophy – and have been given a 22% chance.

Bayern Munich who are last season’s champions and favourites for the trophy, and also Barcelona are ranked behind Manchester City, with their chances rated at 18% and 15%, while PSG and Liverpool have a 7% chance each.

Chelsea were given a 62% chance to reach the quarter-final, and a 31% chance to reach the semifinal and 14% to reach the final, and 6% chance of becoming champions.
