Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek went to the 2018 World Cup as a member of Gareth Southgate’s squad after a breakout season with Crystal Palace.

Since then he’s had a brilliant season with Chelsea, cruelly ended last May with a brutal injury.

He’s almost back to full fitness now, approaching a year on, and Frank Lampard will hopefully be hoping to have him available for selection in a month or so.

According to this week’s Straight Outta Cobham podcast by the Athletic, RLC is still keeping a faint hope alive of making it to the Euros with his country again this summer.

He will have to stay playing regularly – and soon.

But if he believes, we all do.
