Chelsea got off to winning ways in their new Premier League campaign last night.

The Blues beat Brighton 3-1 in their own back yard and it was a perfect start in terms of the scoreline.

However, this did rather flatter Frank Lampard’s side in the end, with the home side very unlucky not to scrape a point at least.

But Chelsea did the job, and they can put some of the thanks on new striker Timo Werner, who was a real menace all game and his electric pace won the penalty for Chelsea’s opener.

Lampard was very pleased with Werner and says ‘he’s going to be a real threat’
