(VIDEO): Lampard finally confirmed Chelsea’s new penalty taker following Rennes win
Chelsea beat Rennes quite easily after a couple of favourable refereeing decisions, and there wasn’t a huge amount for manager Frank Lampard to talk about after the game.
Because of that, his post match interview got onto the subject of the penalty taker of the team, which was evidently been changed after Timo Werner took two tonight, with former penalty shooter Jorginho on the pitch.
“It’s harsh from me,” Lampard admitted jokingly, before confirming that – for now – the German striker was his man now.
It sounds like Jorginho took the news well, and we’re delighted we bagged two tonight and got the 3 points.
"The professional elements of our game were really good today."
"Timo Werner took the penalties tonight. He's the taker at the moment. And he took them very emphatically."
