Chelsea’s front three for much of the season hasn’t really been defined, with Tammy Abraham the main man in the centre, Willian on the flanks, with Pedro, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic on the other side. Mason Mount who mostly features as a midfielder has also been deployed on the flanks at times.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will have a more exciting attacking lineup next season, with the Blues having completed the signing of Hakim Ziyech, with Timo Werner now set to join in. One can now imagine how Frank Lampard will line up his side next season.
Imagine a Chelsea front three of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic, with Werner at the centre. The trio have pace, trickery and all can score, with Werner himself being a goalscoring machine. Ziyech is a quality player who can create goals as well, and then an emerging Callum Hudson-Odoi is still on the bench to bring more firepower to the team.
Also, the Chelsea boss can decide to play Werner from the flanks, which he can also operate from, with Tammy Abraham playing from the centre, and Hakim Ziyech on the other side. Tammy Abraham will bring his physical play to the fore, of which the likes of Ziyech and Werner can play off him. This too could work, and it would mean that Pulisic and his Hudson-Odoi can bring fire from the bench, making the bench even stronger.
Imagine a situation where Chelsea also decide to keep Willian. The Brazilian still has at least two more years left in him to play at the top, and he’d definitely make this Chelsea team better with his hard work, pace, trickery and determination.
We can go on and on with how Lampard will play next season, but it’s all exciting to see the manager with so many options.
