According to reports, Wesley Fofana was acquired by Chelsea for a hefty sum from Leicester City.
The 21-year-old was acquired by the Blues this summer for an enormous £70 million cost.
Before paying such a high amount to recruit Fofana, Todd Boehly wanted to make sure the young defender was healthy after recovering from an injury that kept him out of play for several months.
Some commentators questioned Chelsea’s decision to fly Fofana to New York for his medicals rather than London.
Fofana has discussed what transpired during the examination, revealing that numerous bodily areas, including his genitalia, were examined.
Wesley Fofana told GFFN, “I thought I was going to do it in London and then I found out that it would be carried out in New York City! It was an express visit, but I spent a long time at the clinic,”
“It was the [LA] Lakers doctor who supervised all the tests, he looked at everything. They examined my ankle; everything was analysed, even parts of the body that I can’t talk about in order to see how I had recovered from my injury.
“It lasted over 10 hours! It’s normal given the amount of money spent on me. Todd [Boehly] and Behdad [Eghbali] were great.
“They welcomed me in London and in New York like a member of their own family.”
