Coming up later today we have the draw for the Champions League group stages, and Chelsea are of course involved having finished 4th last season.
The Blues had a tough group last time around, with Ajax, Valencia and Lille providing a really varied and balanced group that saw the Blues qualify second in the end.
Unfortunately for them, that meant a game against Bayern Munich in the second round, and we all remember how that turned out.
This year, we’re seeded second again, and could face a similarly tricky group.
From pot one, we could be up against Bayern again, Sevilla, Real Madrid, Juve, PSG, Zenit or Porto.
Pot three has Dynamo Kiev, RB Salzburg, Inter, Olmpiacos, Lazio, Krasnodar and Atalanta.
Then the minnows pot is made up of Lokomotiv Moscow, Marseille, Club Brugge, Borussia Monchengladbach, Istanbul Basaksehir, Midjtylland, Rennes and Ferencvaros.
So while there are plenty of easier game in there, we could easily end up playing, Bayern, Inter and Andre Villas Boas’ Marseille if things don’t go our way.
