Why I don’t believe Antonio Conte – Tuchel reveals after latest comments on Chelsea
Last season, Chelsea played Tottenham four times, with the Blues coming out on top each time.
Antonio Conte, the manager of Tottenham, asserted that Chelsea and Tottenham were miles apart last year.
Conte has asserted that Chelsea shouldn’t be disqualified from the title race this season.
However, Antonio Conte’s statement has been downplayed by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who claims that he doesn’t take the Italian’s words at face value.
“I never felt a huge gap in preparing these matches,” Tuchel said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“They were close matches and they are a very competitive and talented squad, I know very well what we invested and to what level we played to beat them four times and not concede a goal against this quality of a team and an emotional game in London that means so much for everybody.
“This was a huge effort and big consecutive performances from us.
“I don’t believe everything that Antonio Conte says before games and after games, I admire him a lot and I believe strongly that every team he trains competes for everything no matter which team it is or what club it is, that’s what he proves right now.”
