With an impending Chelsea player decision, Marina Granovskaia is attempting to ruin Real Madrid’s transfer plan

According to reports, whoever succeeds Roman Abramovich as Chelsea’s owner has made a new deal for Reece James a top priority. Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the winger in the future, and the Blues will be keen to keep hold of one of their brightest talents.

This season, James has been one of Thomas Tuchel’s most efficient players, both defensively and offensively. He is one of Chelsea’s most productive attacking threats, with six goals and five assists in the Premier League. Unfortunately for west Londoners, his skill has not gone unnoticed by other European titans.

Antonio Rudiger is slated to leave Bayern Munich this summer as his contract ends, with Real Madrid ready to take him on a free transfer. Andreas Christensen is also poised to leave as a free agent, and despite the fact that James’ contract has three years left on it, Marina Granovskaia and the rest of the Chelsea board are plainly eager to put an end to the trend.

Tuchel said before of their midweek encounter with Manchester United: “I would love to have two of Reece James, it would solve the problem, it’s like 50 percent towards wing-back and 45 percent towards the back three.”

“It [where he plays] depends on how the opponent plays against us a little bit.” Do we expect a lot of possession, and what is their offensive transition structure?”

Real Madrid will try to recruit James, according to a report from Goal earlier this week, but they will likely wait until the summer of 2023, as Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni are their top priority. Chelsea, on the other hand, is likely to try to thwart such ambitions in the coming weeks.

According to a report from 90min, a new contract for James has been declared a major priority for the club, regardless of who takes over as owner. It’s understandable why Rudiger and Christensen have decided to act now after watching their contracts expire.
