“I think I’m good enough to play for Chelsea,” Blues loanee tells Tuchel

Nathan Baxter, a Chelsea loanee and goalkeeper for Hull City, stated that he would like to return to the Blues’ main squad next season. He’d like to compete alongside Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga for the number one goalkeeper spot.

The player grew up playing for the Young Blues and went on to graduate from their prestigious Cobham academy before going on loan to a variety of clubs.

He is, however, willing to join the first team at Stamford Bridge. In an interview with League of 72, he revealed this intention (via Chelsea Chronicle)

“In my opinion, I’m good enough to play for Chelsea, and that remains my ambition.” If it is decided that this is not the path forward for me, the [Hull] supporters will be able to see how much I appreciate playing for this football club.”

“However, from my perspective, it’s all about playing games,” he added. If I have to transfer elsewhere, whether on loan or permanently, my first aim will be to find a place where I can play every week.”

Baxter has had an outstanding season for Hull City. With few opportunities at Stamford Bridge, he may not be in Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the coming season.

However, His deal with the Blues runs out in 2023.
