Chelsea new boy Hakim Ziyech has taken to Instagram to send a message to Chelsea fans after making his debut in a Blues shirt.

Despite completing his move to Stamford Bridge back in February, the 27-year-old had to wait until the pre-season clash against Brighton to pull on a Chelsea shirt for the first time.

The Blues travelled to the Amex Stadium to take on the Seagulls, just over two weeks before the same fixture kicks off the Blues’ Premier League campaign.

Ziyech made his debut alongside fellow summer arrival Timo Werner, with the two combining to score the opening goal of the game after just four minutes.

However, the game would end on a slight downer for Ziyech when he was forced off the field with an injury in the second half.

It is hoped that him leaving the pitch is a precautionary measure, but fans have shown their concern ahead of the start of the season. After the game, the player himself has taken to social media.

“It felt good to finally make my first minutes in blue,” he wrote. “Can’t wait for the league to start.”

The fact that he has not mentioned the injury may be an indication that there is nothing too serious for Chelsea to worry about.
