Ziyech reveals what Lampard told him in ‘Private call’ that made him join Chelsea

Ajax star Hakim Ziyech will join the Blues Next season and is already looking bright for Chelsea, as the Blues have gone on to signed him.

The 26-year-old Moroccan has been a massive player for Ajax especially in the last two seasons, and the Blues beat competition from many top European clubs to land Ziyech at a considerable price of £37m.

Ziyech has now revealed that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard played a massive role in making him to sign up for the Blues as he spoke with the Lampard a lot and the Chelsea manager made him feel good about making the move to Stamford Bridge.

Many Blues fans were frustrated at the club’s inability to make any signings during the January transfer window and some went on to suggest that Lampard will not be able to attract big names, but the Blues boss has proved his doubters wrong.

About the role of Lampard in his transfer, Ziyech told Ajax TV: “A big role. We had a lot of contact in the last couple of weeks and he gave me a good feeling and that was also big to do with the decision.”

Ziyech also admitted that he wants to enjoy his final season in Ajax and win some trophies before moving to Chelsea.

He explained: “First of all to enjoy it with the people here [at Ajax], the team-mates and the people we work with, the trainers and everybody around the club.

The most important is to enjoy it and win the trophies we have to win.”
