Chelsea new boy Hakim Ziyech has named the Blues, Arsenal and Manchester United players who made him dream of joining the Premier League.
The very impressive winger had four successful year with Ajax before deciding that now is the right time to test himself in the Premier League, when he decided to sign with Chelsea back in February. The Blues had the chance to sign Ziyech in the January window, but waited till the transfer window had finished before completing that £37 million deal.
The Morocco winger, 27, can’t wait to team up at the Bridge from Ajax after the Dutch League was finished early due to the coronavirus pandemic, and he has revealed the players which has helped his decision to make the move to the English game.
The Evening Standard quote the 27-year-old as saying: “The Premier League is a great competition, with fast thinking and technical players.
“As a kid, I dreamt of playing there. I watched Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, with Didier Drogba, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and David Beckham, and wanted to be like them.”
We have said it before and we will say it once again, Ziyech is a top class player that has all the ability to be a real superstar for Chelsea when he arrives in the summer window, he may not even need time to showcase his abilities.
He is already one of the most creative players in Europe, showing that on a number of occasions in the Champions League, and just needs to get used to the way Frank Lampard likes to play the game. But, as we said, he is a fantastic signing for the club that has set his sights high, but there is no other way of doing things if you want to be a success in the game.
