Chelsea board makes final decision in pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho

Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho is set to leave Spanish club Barcelona this summer and the Blues have been linked with a move for the 27 year old.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard reportedly believes the Brazilian has the quality to improve Chelsea’s squad as he seeks to build a team capable of challenging for the title.

According to ESPN, Chelsea are no longer interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer.

The report claims Chelsea have pulled out of the race for Coutinho because of the Brazilian’s wage demands believed to be around €11 million a year.

Coutinho, currently on loan at Bayern Munich, has scored 9 goals and provided 8 assists in 32 games across all competitions for Bayern Munich this season.
