REPORTS: Chelsea have another agreement in place for Italian player

According to latest reports, Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta will be spending the 2020-21 season with AS Roma.

The 27-year old full-back joined Chelsea in a deal worth £23million from Torino back in 2017, but he hasn’t lived up to his expectations at Stamford Bridge and was sent out loan to AS Roma last summer.

With the Italian defender still contracted with the Blues until June 2022, he has made no secret of his ambition to stay with the Serie A club and that has led to Roma triggering a loan extension for him.

According to the Daily Mail, AS Roma already have an agreement in place with Chelsea to extend the defender’s stay with the Italian club for another year.

Zappacosta just managed to play 12 minutes football at Roma following his loan move, before picking up anterior cruciate ligament injury, but he has returned back to light training in Italy.

It would be best if Chelsea decides on cashing out Zappacosta, given that they already have Recce James coming up the ranks in the right-back position.
