Happy Lampard reveals the player he can’t wait to start against Southampton.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is yet to use all of his summer transfer signings, with Hakim Ziyech yet to feature for the team this season.
Ziyech got injured before the start of the season, in a friendly game against Brighton, and hasn’t featured for the Blues since then.
Ziyech played for half an hour on international duty with Morocco, and is now set to make his Blues debut against the Saints.
Frank Lampard revealed in his press conference on Friday afternoon, that he is excited to see Hakim Ziyech make a return to the pitch. “I’m excited to see Hakim play,” said Lampard.
“It feels like a long time since we brought him here, and he hasn’t played since the Dutch league finished before lockdown.
“He’s worked hard to get fit, he looks really good in training and he’s been fantastic with his professionalism in working hard to get back fit. It’s just game minutes that we need for him now.
“I have a good relationship with Hakim, we’ve had plenty of honest conversations and yes, I’m very excited to see him play and hopefully we can see him at his best, like he was for Ajax.”
