11 Chelsea players to be sold for top signing, Midfielder set for Chelsea return, as Milan makes £100 million Blues target decision

Chelsea are prepared to sell as many as 11 players to fund a move for the in-demand Erling Haaland this summer.

Haaland is currently attracting interest from several top sides in Europe, including Manchester United, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.

Chelsea are expected to be in the market for a striker, and are desperate to sign Haaland, according to Football.London.

The Blues have done well under new manager Thomas Tuchel and are willing to sell several of their fringe players this summer to make way for Haaland, who has been in scintillating form for Borussia Dortmund.

Kepa and Tomori in the list of players Chelsea want to sell to sign Erling Haaland
Haaland’s form this season has captured the imagination of several top clubs, and it is no real surprise that he will be in demand this summer.

Although his release clause (£65 million) will come into effect in the summer of 2022, clubs are willing to take a risk and sign him this summer for a fee of more than £100 million because of his impressive goal return.

Chelsea had gone on a summer splurge in 2020, but some of their signings have not quite made a mark yet. The likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz have been inconsistent, while Christian Pulisic has had too many injuries and has not justified his price tag either.

Although Chelsea are not expected to sell any of the aforementioned players, they could very likely sell some of their other expensive purchases like Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer.

Fikayo Tomori has impressed on loan at AC Milan so far this season, and although he could potentially have a future at the club, he might be sold for his release clause which is at £25 million.

The likes of Emerson, Davide Zappacosta, and Marcos Alonso could also be sold. Alonso’s value has improved following his impressive performances of late.

Another player who has failed to impress consistently is Ross Barkley. The England international is unlikely to be a first choice after his loan spell at Aston Villa comes to an end, and he could be sold permanently this summer.

Ross Barkley set for Chelsea return

According to Tribal Football, Ross Barkley will return to Chelsea this summer when his loan deal at Aston Villa expires.

The 27 year old midfielder has impressed on loan at Aston Villa but Dean Smith is unwilling to meet the price tag of the midfielder.

Barkley’s loan move to Aston Villa got off to a quick start, producing influential performances for Dean Smith’s side in the early parts of the season.

But after sustaining a hamstring injury at the end of November, which saw him miss eight matches in a row, Barkley’s form has never quite recovered.

It remains unclear what Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will do with Barkley when he returns to Cobham.

Inter Milan have made £100 million Lukaku decision which will affect Chelsea

Inter have no intention of selling Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window – with reports Chelsea are very much interested in a transfer deal.

Thomas Tuchel is a man that knows he needs to improve certain areas of the pitch in the coming transfer window to turn this Chelsea side into Premier League winners.

And with the likes of Timo Werner, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud all failing to impress in front of goal this season, It is pretty clear that the German coach wants to add a premium striker to the attack.

Lukaku, 27, has been a massive hit in Italy, scoring 42 times in 62 league games for Inter, who are currently on course to secure their first Serie A title since 2010, and his record on the international stage is equally impressive with 58 goals in 90 appearances for FIFA’s top-ranked country.

As with the whole of the football world, the COVID-19 outbreak has hit the Italian club’s finances hard, and with the Italian giants reportedly ready to balance the books in the summer, they would be open to the idea of letting Lukaku leave.

However, Italian publication Calciomercato have now claimed that Inter have made the decision to not allow their star striker leave when the transfer window opens up in a few months time.

The reports claim The Nerazzurri are in line for a €100 million (£86m,$196m) windfall in June if they secure the Serie A title, meaning they would then have plenty of funds to spend on new players.

WILL HE HEAD BACK TO CHELSEA?

Lukaku was never really given a chance to shine at Stamford Bridge, but he has made a very good career for himself away from the club, so even though Chelsea are interested, he would surely not want to go back to a club that failed to keep their promises the first time around.

It will be interesting to see which striker Tuchel gets in the summer window, but we would be very shocked to see him arrive at Chelsea.
