£120,000-a-week contract to be offered to star Player as Chelsea still keen to get transfer deal done by 16th.

Reports have claimed that West Ham are about to double the wages of Chelsea target Declan Rice. It is no secret that Blues boss Frank Lampard is a massive fan of Rice and would still like to add him to the Chelsea squad this month, but that £80 million asking price has become a big problem.

Chelsea have spent over £200 million on new players this summer, meaning that Lampard does not have alot of money left in that kitty to sign the England International, but there is still a chance to get a deal done.

Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 lockdown, the summer market has been reshaped to help aid clubs, with a ten-week window opened on July 27 and ran until Monday, October 5, closing at 11pm.

However, Premier League clubs can no longer do business with teams in Europe and around the world but they can look to keep spending, This is because the top-flight and EFL have agreed on a second, domestic-only window until October 16th

But according to Journalist Duncan Wright, West Ham face having to double Declan Rice’s salary in a new deal after managing to the keep the England star at the club for another season.

Yet having retained the services of the player and made it clear he was their prized asset, West Ham now need to reward him with a contract that recognises his standing as the best player at London Stadium.

Rice is two years into a five-and-a-half-year contract, which saw him move from £3,000-a-week up to £60,000-a-week — a package co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold initially baulked at paying.

But with a few days still left in the transfer window for Chelsea to possibly get a deal done, the Hammers are worried that Chelsea will come in with a late offer that may tempt Rice into moving.
