£200k-a-week star has ‘packed his bag’ for Stamford Bridge move – reports

According to journalist Dean Jones, Chelsea target Wesley Fofana has “essentially packed his luggage” for Stamford Bridge.

However, Following the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively, Thomas Tuchel has identified the 21-year-old as a major target.

Despite Leicester reportedly rejecting two Chelsea bids for Fofana, the second of which was worth over £70 million, Chelsea has continued to show interest in the player.

And according to a recent article in The Guardian, the France Under-21 international has informed the Foxes that he wishes to be admitted to the capital club.

It’s rumored that Chelsea is debating whether to increase their offer for Fofana and is aware that it may take at least £85 million to get Leicester to sell, which would make him the most expensive defender in the world.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has since provided an update on the 6 foot 3 ace’s situation, disclosing that he has already agreed personal terms with the west London outfit.

Only time will tell if the two clubs can now come to an agreement as well, completing what would be one of the most high-profile deals of the summer.

Jones states that Fofana, who could be offered £200,000-per-week, is just ‘waiting to be told when he can go’ and that Leicester are ‘understanding of the situation’ as all parties wait for a solution to be reached.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “He’s basically packed his bag, and he’s ready to go, standing by the door just waiting to be told when he can go.

“He’s so eager for this to go through now, and Leicester are understanding of the situation.”
