24-year-old regretting leaving Chelsea after what happened in the Champions League last night – Unbelievable

Last summer saw a large overload in first team players at Chelsea as they entered a new era with Mauricio Pochettino at the helm.

A number of key stars were moved on, in a situation which seemed unimaginable just 12 months prior.

Kai Havertz was shifted on to Arsenal, where he is struggling to break into the side who are currently unbeaten in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic is not exactly proving his worth at the Etihad Stadium, with him failing to step up at Manchester City during Rodri’s recent suspension.

However, the player it has arguably gone worst for is Mason Mount, who at this stage is a substitute at Manchester United.

Some poor performances and injuries ruined his time as a starter at Old Trafford, although these games were very rarely bringing strong displays from the team as a whole.

Mount surely regretting United move

Last night saw Erik ten Hag’s side enter must-win territory already in the Champions League with the home match against Copenhagen.

Two defeats already in the competition saw them needing a win, which they just about got thanks to a last-minute Andre Onana penalty save.

Mount however was nowhere to be seen, as he remained an unused substitute for arguably the club’s biggest game of the season.

While his move has given him the chance to play in Europe this season, he may be looking back at the positive signs at Stamford Bridge with an element of regret.

Chelsea fans will instead be excited about what is to come in the future, particularly from the players who replaced the England international.

Cole Palmer has gotten off to a great start at Stamford Bridge, while the midfield pair of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are truly finding their feet as a duo.
