£250,000-a-week star opens door to possible move to Premier League, amid Chelsea January speculation

Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho has not ruled out a Premier League return, amid speculation he could leave Barcelona in January.

Coutinho was a superstar at Liverpool during his time in the premier League and earned that big money move to the Camp Nou just a few seasons ago, but despite his quality, he has never fulfilled his potential at the Spanish outfit.

A two-year loan deal with Bayern seemed to worked out well, but the German side opted not to make the move permanent, meaning that Coutinho was given another chance to prove himself at Barcelona under new boss Ronaldo Koeman.

The Brazilian playmaker has hit some form under Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman, notching two goals and two assists in seven LaLiga appearances, but there is still some speculation in the media that he will be one of the big names sold in the January window.

This Barcelona side is ageing and needs to be freshened up, but with the COVID-19 still hitting clubs financially, it means that they will need to sell before they are able to freshen up the side in the coming window.

And amid all the speculation that Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in a potential transfer deal, The former Liverpool man told World Soccer: “The Premier League is one of the most exciting leagues in the world and to have the chance to play there with a team like Liverpool will always be something I will feel grateful for.

“It is impossible to say what might or might not happen in the future – but what I know is that right now my only focus is on being successful with Barcelona.”

Coutinho is world class and would give the Blues another option in attack, but he is not a player that they need right now so if he does come back, it will surely be for one of their top four rivals?
