£50 million-rated stopper wants Stamford Bridge move as Chelsea close to seal deal

According to reports, Nick Pope is very interested in a move to Chelsea, with reports the Blues are ready to splash the cash to seal a transfer deal.

Now look, we all know that Frank Lampard is not happy with the performances of Kepa, who has not developed during his time at the Bridge and is just an average stopper that could easily be replaced.

It is believed that Chelsea are prepared to fork out £90m for Oblak in order to add an elite stopper to the squad that will bring that quality to the defence that Chelsea have been lacking all season.

However, Madrid will only open talks about a possible transfer deal in the summer if clubs meet their £110 million asking price, and with Chelsea seeking to bolster a few areas, that is maybe a fee that they do not want to pay.

However, according to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are going to up their interest in Burnley No. 1 Pope, with the reports claiming Lampard has now made the 28-year-old his top goalkeeper target now the transfer window is open.

It is believed he would only cost around £50 million to acquire this summer, which is far less than what Madrid want for Oblak, and it is also claims that Pope is open to the idea of signing with the Chelsea.

In-conclusion, Pope is a very good stopper, but he has done nothing special to warrant a £50 million price tag, meaning that Chelsea would be paying over-the-top money to get a transfer deal done.
