Chelsea legend Dennis Wise says Chelsea defensive target Ben Chilwell has ‘a lot of quality’ and wants to see the player start alongside new signings Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech for the Blues next season.
The Blues have already sealed deals for Timo from RB Leipzig and Hakim from Ajax to bolster their attacking options.
However, the defence is the next priority for Frank, with their deficiencies in that area further highlighted in the 3-2 loss versus West Ham United on Wednesday.
Leicester City’s Ben is reportedly a top target at left-back for them but will cost up to £75 million to prize away from the Foxes. And when quizzed which team he wants to see line up at the Blues next season, Blues legend Wise included the Englishman.
‘As you see I’m hoping that they sign a left-back, Chilwell, the Leicester boy,’ Dennis told Stadium Astro.
‘That would be very nice if they got a left-back in because I think he’s got a lot of quality. There’s a lot of speculation about him and that would be really, really nice.’
Youngster Reece James replaces Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back in Dennis’ team, while Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, who struggled in the defeat to West Ham United, also feature.
