On May 2, 2016, Leicester City advanced strongly to go on and win the Premier League title for the first time, and Chelsea played a major role in that.
For the Blues that season, there were no hopes of a title fight or even finishing in a place in Europe, so it was a game of pride as Chelsea hosted Tottenham in a feisty game titled ‘the battle at the Bridge’.
Spurs had gone ahead 2-0 to close up on Leicester City, but the Blues sealed a dramatic comeback in the second half with just seven minutes remaining when Eden Hazard and Diego Costa combined to kill Spurs dream of a first ever title win.
It was a stunning match between two bitter rivals which saw 12 bookings, and Cesc Fabregas who played the entire game has now celebrated the anniversary of that fixture to mock Spurs fans.
“Today 4 years ago we won the Premier League,” he tweeted before following up with “For Leicester City”, much to the delight of Chelsea fans on social media…
You're one hell of a guy 😂😂😂
